After a day’s excursions take tea in the magnificent and elegant hotel called the Peninsular, or locally known as “The Pen”. This historic hotel will serve you cucumber sandwiches and afternoon tea in its beautiful surroundings. After a long day visiting the sights visit Victoria Harbour and watch the nightly show of lights and sound. This truly amazing show brings tourists flocking to it from around the world and has themes of Awakening, Energy, Heritage, Partnership and the finale Celebration, it truly is a sight to be seen.
Shopping
Shopping in Hong Kong is glitzy, trendy and traditional, with hundreds of stores to visit. There are massive shopping districts which can take up days to scour. There is nothing you can’t find in the stores, from designer clothing to the latest electronic technology items. The shops are extravagant, but there are plenty of bargains to be had, this city is shopping paradise. There are also many open markets to visit from bird garden market selling everything from grasshoppers, to fancy birdcages, or visit the open air flower market with its exotic flowers and colourful displays. There are markets for everything, but a great place to spend time in is the Jade markets with their diverse mix of rare and valuable items to inexpensive tourist items and souvenirs. The atmosphere and colourful market stalls are very enticing, but be sure you are buying genuine jade if your purchase is going to be an expensive one. There is even a themed market for the kids and toy lovers; there is so much shopping here in Hong Kong, it’s a brilliant experience.
